Bordered design

pattern for fabric or knit, most common in shawls and scarves, which forms border framing (the pattern does not extend across the whole surface). Motifs include ornamental, flowers and geometric patterns. B. d. is often used in combination with stripe or check patterns and is grouped towards the edges of the fabric or knit; it is suitable for use in ladies' clothing, especially coats and jackets.
