Casuals; casual wear; leisure wear

term in common use since the 1960s for a style of dress characterized by its loose-fitting, comfortable design, softness, light weight, and ease of maintenance; often knitwear. In many cases it represents a rejection of convention and an inclination to the new and unconventional. Examples of such clothing are the trouser-suit, a shirt or blouse over trousers, and the blouson.
