Cloqué (2)

hollow woollen fabric with a puckered, relief surface in fanciful figures. Typically one-colour and midweight. The relief surface is achieved by use of a hollow-web or backstitch weave (backstitch cloth; hollow web) and the increased shrinkage of the crepe yarns(crepe yarn)used in its production. Diagonal twill-backed weaves may also be used, in combination with a linen weave. Used for ladies' dresses and coats.
