Crepe afgalaine

Light- to midweight wool fabric, notably rough to the touch and with a grainy surface. Produced in linen weave from worsted and carded semi-crepe or crepe yarn. Yarn alternates S twist and Z twist in the warp; in the weft the leasing lengthwise stripe characteristic of a. is created. Mostly produced as a fabric dyed in a single piece. Used in women's - especially formal - dresses.
