Crepe weave

created from [[100954|linen]], [[100497|twill]] or another w. by the adding or removal of binding points so that the[[101244|repeat]] forms no rows or other regularities, but instead composes itself at random. Hence it has no pattern and is reversible. Fabric has a grainy, indeterminate surface which is accentuated by highly twisted yarns and a 1:1 or 2:2 S and Z twist yarn rotation. Most commonly used in the fabrics of ladies' dresses and men's fashion suits. Patterned c. w. can be used to form various patterns in the fabric.
