Cross twill

derived twill weave, created in the repeat of a weave of two pointed twills running in different directions, together forming rows on the fabric in the shape of a cross, which are repeated according to the weave. This weave is used with cotton and woollen fabrics. Fancy c. t. is created from c. t. single and reinforced interlacing with an unlocked centre in the repeat, thus creating a weave effect in the fabric. This weave is used in fabrics for ladies' cotton dresses and fashionable dresses and coats of wool.
