Curl pile

woollen fabric which is soft, even tender to the touch and has a curly surface created by a fancy loop yarn, concealing a crepe weave or a weave in double-cloth production technology. Produced from light- and heavyweight carded yarns. Used for fashionable coats and ladies' suits, and in a lightweight rendering for fashionabe dresses. The name is derived from the German "krollen" (= to curl).
