Damassé fabric

thick, silky double pick fabric of mid- to heavy weight, richly patterned and woven by jacquard-patterning technology from chemical silk. The base is five-bond warp satin weave. In the pattern there is one weft on the face and another on the back, and it is woven in linen weave. Used for decorative purposes and as a lining.
