fine wool fabric which is full and elastic to the touch, and typically has lengthwise shaded striping in fine relief, which is created by twisting the yarn in different ways; may be accentuated by the twisting in of silk. Woven in fine yarn in double-fabric tricot weave, mostly in dark colours. Used in formal suits.
