The original apparel of the Ancient Egyptians was the apron, which was worn by men and women. Another garment they wore was a sleeveless shirt, which later was worn in combination with a waistcoat. The shirts and aprons of the women were longer than those of the men, the shirt reaching to the ankle and the apron to the knee. Later garments include a lightweight coat and a [[100974|pleated]] dress for women made of fine, diaphonous fabric.
