The effect can be achieved by spinning, twisting, dyeing, printing or a combination of these. The most common uses of f.y. include: bouclé, gold (silver) thread, flake y., frieze, looped y., gimp y., button silk, wicking y., crepe y.., melange, mouliné, slub y., fancy twist, ombré fabric, ondé, roving, terry fabric, loop ply y., vigoureux y., jaspé y., mottled y. and chenille y..
