Fashionable trousers of the "carrot style"; see "carrot style" trousers

fashionably shaped ladies' or men's trousers, the pelvis and leg of which are loose-fitting. When the leg reaches the ankle its lower edge tapers so that it fits close. Originally produced from denim, later from lightweight cotton and woollen fabrics. At the turn of the 1980s carrot-style t. superseded hipsters.
