Flock print

type of p. by which a pattern is transferred onto a textile fabric using a special printing technique (usually film p.). In place of dye, a binding agent of a resin is used, into which short fibres are collected (vertically and close together) by means of an electrostatic field,; after the resin sets, a pile effect (which resembles that of a pile fabric) is created on the foundation cloth. F. p. is used in particular on polyamide textile fabrics for use in clothing, curtains, and textile fabrics used for decorative purposes.
