Flocked textile fabric

f. of a velours-like appearance, the surface of which is created by the securing of flocks of fibre on a foundation cloth. Produced by means of the electrostatic testing and adjusting of flocks on fabric using a transfer binding agent with the opposite electrostatic charge. The foundation cloth is typically of cotton or a mix; as a binding agent, various types of latex, dispersed polyacrylates, etc. are used. Flocks are cotton, silk, polyamide or polyester. F. t. f. are used in the production of coats, classical jackets, and sports jackets.
