Hemp

Cannabis sativa bast fibre, one of the oldest cultivated fibre plants. Fibre is obtained from stems and is similar to but coarser than flax. Contents: 85% cellulose, 10% lignin and pectin, 4% moisture, 1% ash matter, fat and wax. Chiefly used for technical purposes - in rope, straps, canvas, hoses, etc.
