Kazan woolly cloth

soft, reversible, heavyweight, combed woollen fabric, with a pile which conceals its linen or four-bond doubletwill weave. K. is used to produce ladies' smocks and dresses. The name is derived from the Tatar city of Kazan, which is in a region well known for the production of fabrics of this type.
