Loop(ed) yarn

[[100234|fancy y.]] which is distinctive for the regular spacing of its loops. It is soft and fluffy to the [[100849|touch]]. The loops are created by twisting, and the base thread is twisted more quickly by an additional thread. Loops formed in this way are reinforced by a further twist with a reinforcing thread. Used in the production of [[101499|woollen]] and [[100079|cotton]] fabrics for ladies' coats and (if of lower capacity) dresses.
