Loop(ed) yarn

fancy y. which is distinctive for the regular spacing of its loops. It is soft and fluffy to the touch. The loops are created by twisting, and the base thread is twisted more quickly by an additional thread. Loops formed in this way are reinforced by a further twist with a reinforcing thread. Used in the production of woollen and cotton fabrics for ladies' coats and (if of lower capacity) dresses.
