Madras

lightweight [[100079|cotton]] fabric which is airy and porous; in [[100954|linen weave]] and distinctive for its use of uneven yarns. Used for ladies' summer dresses and blouses. The name is given by the Indian city Madras, where this type of cloth was originally produced.
