ladies' t. of a soft, lightweight, flowing woven fabric or knit, distinctive for their moderately tight fit at the pelvis and wide, flowing legs which reach to below the ankle. The name is given by M. D., who was the first to wear this type of t. in the 1930s and 1940s.
