Mending yarn; darning yarn

carded cotton yarn twisted from two single yarns, which is mercerized to achieve its gloss. Is spooled and used for the darning by hand of tights and stockings. For machine darning, d. y. of worsted cotton yarn is produced, which is singed and coned in cross-wound bobbins (only one d. y. per bobbin).
