Modified fibre

its original qualities are modified chemically or physically, although the modified component does not exceed 15% (20% with polyvinylidene f.) This f. is sometimes referred to as f. of the second or third generation. Produced in a variety of types, which are divided into two basic groups: a) f. so modified that their qualities are adapted to the purposes of a given product (clothing, textiles for the home); b) f., the qualities of which are established during production, and which are intended for the setting of applications (two-component f.)
