Orleans

term previously used for lustre fabric and an elastic, lightweight woollen fabric which is rough to the touch and has a fine, porous surface; in linen or Panama weave. Used for ladies' dresses and ladies' and men's suits. In this case it is patterned with small dots in the weave, created by the weft. Woven on listing or Jacquard looms. This fabric was originally produced in Orleans, hence its name.
