Parisian fashion

has a leading position in world ladies' fashion, forged by a long tradition of making developments in textiles production and tailoring. Is known for its innovativeness, acceptable eccentricity, elegance, sensitivity to colour and shape, and its use of accessories to achieve a satisfying whole. New designs from its salons (known as haute couture) are quickly disseminated throughout the world, thus bringing their influence to bear on developments in world fashion.
