Patch-like cloth

part of a garment made of cloth, leather or a knit which is similar to a patch; sewn on or otherwise attached to new clothing in the places where it is most susceptible to wear. May also serve as a fashion element. Used on work and sports clothing, and also clothing for everyday wear. We distinguish between p. l. c. for elbow, knee, buttocks, etc.
