Pill

cluster or tangle of a number of fibres rounded off into the shape of small tufts, which are created by friction and coiling on the surface of the textile fabric; typically has a high synthetic-fibre content, which is difficult to remove. P. may also occur in woollen textile fabrics, but the lesser rigidity of these makes the p. easier to remove.
