pouch created by sewing on or otherwise attaching to a garment; used for the keeping of small personal effects and also as a decoration. Has a variety of shapes and finishes. On certain types of garment it has a standard position. Basic types of p. include the welted p., bellows p., patch p., waistband p., flap p., lengthwise p., slit p., punch-through p., set-in p., and jet p..
