plain, soft, thick, midweight [[100079|cotton]] fabric produced in [[100954|linen weave]]; has a closer sett in the warp than in the weft, and in the latter coarser yarns are sometimes used to create a fine transverse ribbing. Used for men's shirts, and ladies' blouses, underwear and dresses.
