Pyjama cloth

well-established and oft-used term for a midweight [[100079|cotton fabric]] which is produced in [[100954|linen weave]]from medium-fine yarns. Has a characteristic vertical, lustrous stripe in various groupings, which is achieved by differing weaves (typically [[100049|satin]]). P. c. can also be plain or printed. It is produced for use as nightwear, although sometimes it is used for blouses and summer dresses.
