original means of printing [[101358|textile fabrics]] with hand blocks. The mechanization of [[101110|hand printing]]with blocks was so-called perotina, which machine-printed the whole fabric width. A further increase in productivity was achieved by uninterrupted printing by face rollers. With the exception of isolated works by artists and craftsmen, r. p. is no longer in use.
