midweight [[101499|woollen fabric]], which is full to the touch and typically has striking transverse ribbing. This ribbing is created by a [[100954|linen]] or [[101132|rep weave]] in combination with a finer yarn in the warp and a coarser yarn in the weft. Is usually one-colour, and the width of its ribbing is variable. Used for ladies' dresses and coats.
