cotton r. is a midweight fabric with a longitudinal or transverse ribbing. It is in [[100954|linen]] or [[101132|rep weave]]. For lengthwise scoring, ribbing is achieved by increasing the sett of warp yarns; with diagonal scoring, the sett is increased in the weft. Lightweight r. is used for children's clothing, heavier rep for ladies' and men's coats, sportswear and decorative purposes.
