Satin; sateen (4)

fine lightweight [[101499|woollen]] fabric with a high-lustre surface; sometimes has a fine transverse or vertical pattern in the weave, or stripes from yarns of the opposite twist. In five- or eight-end warp [[1042;4|atlas/satin]] from a fine, single worsted yarn. Used for ladies' dresses for wear on formal occasions.
