Satin marocain

heavyweight silk fabric with a fine, grainy surface on the face; the back is plain and lustrous. In the warp, somewhat coarse natural silk or viscose rayon is used; the weft has an ondé yarn, or weft yarns are rotated in S twist and Z twist. In a combination of twill, rep or satin weaves. Ladies' dresses are made from this fabric.
