Satin weave (2)

basic one-face warp w., in which the knit is processed from one fully-threaded warp. The thread forms stitches along a number of rows, always in a single direction. After a given number of rows the direction of the lapping is changed. Depending on the number of rows lapped in one direction, we distinguish between four-row, five-row s. w., etc. Characteristic of the knit are transverse stripes, in which the stitches are laid in the opposite direction. Used in underwear.
