Tricot (weave)

its appearance - thanks to its characteristic notching - is similar to that of a tricot knit. Created from a hollow, double-warp, double-pick w., so that during weaving the binding points are not covered, instead taking sharp turns in the weaving sequence to form its knit-like notching. Used in the production of woollen fabrics for formal suits, ladies' suits, and uniforms.
