Two-step sateen

derived satin weave which is created by dividing consecutive numbers into two equal parts which are gradually worked into the repeat of the weave, by which the repeat along the weft is duplicated. This weave is peculiar in that some of its binding points may touch. On the fabric surface there is a single angled broken spacing. The weave is used in the silk fabrics of ladies' dresses.
