method of interlacing systems of longitudinal warp and transverse weft threads (in woven fabrics), or the interlacing of the threads of knits. Influences the elasticity, strength, [[100849|touch]], flow, texture, insulating properties and overall look of a textile fabric. The basic w. are [[100954|linen]], [[100497|twill]] and [[100049|satin]]. In addition to these we distinguish between many derived and combined w. The basic knitted w. include [[101563|weft knit]] and [[100870|warp knit]] in one-face and reversible renderings.
