The abbreviated title of the 1925 International Exhibition of the Decorative Arts and Modern Industry in Paris, at which the work of leading fashion designers of the time was exhibited. The exhibition was great success but it also attracted sharp criticism. It became an inspiration and stimulus for the clarity and eloquence of the drawings in pale, Gobelin colours used in patterns for the textiles clothing industry at the turn of the 1920s. Enjoyed a revival in the 1970s.
