Oconell textile fabric

low-cost, midweight [[101499|woollen]] fabric which is soft and full to the [[100849|touch]]; has a short-cut pile which conceals its three-end weft [[100494|twill]] or four-end reversible twill weave. Produced from cotton yarn in the warp and fine carded semi-woollen yarn in the weft. Used for low-cost men's suits and uniforms. O'Connell is a corruption of the English "of coney" - the hair that the fabric's surface resembles.
