Tinsel covered yarn

[[100420|core yarn]] with a textile-yarn core, twisted with a wire of decorative circular- or flat-section metals. Used in stranding, embroidery, weaving and the stitching of decorations onto uniforms and textile fabrics worn on ceremonial occasions. The production of yarns of this type was made famous by the Spanish town Leon.
